Chapter 304: Hellhound
Chapter 304: Hellhound
Damian had never seen a hellhound before. Well, he wasn’t certain the creature was one, but it certainly seemed like it. What gave him that confidence was the burning golden key tattoo on its body.
He knew very well that the king of the underworld was after that key.
’How powerful is this creature?’ thought Damian.
Damian had no idea of the creature’s level of power. Was it stronger than him? One thing he was certain of: he needed to keep that hellhound away from the others in the camp!
Elrandir would surely have a chance against that monster, but the others were much too weak. However, even with Elrandir’s help, Damian wanted to deal with this on his own.
This was his problem, and he would have to resolve it.
The hell-hound growled and ran towards him. Its movements were fast. It was difficult for Damian to keep up.
The first thing he thought was to use his Telekinesis to push the dog away, or at least affect its movements. However, the ability didn’t seem to work. It was as if the hell-hound was immune.
’Damn!’
Realizing that wouldn’t work, Damian used his Telekinesis to fly away. He was fast enough to dodge the attack.
When he looked down, the hell-hound had bitten the tree that was previously behind Damian. It tore off a huge piece of the tree, and then the tree started catching fire!
The hell-hound’s bites had an additional power: the power of fire. Witnessing that scene, Damian was even more certain that he didn’t want to be bitten by the creature.
The underworld dog looked up and opened its mouth. Damian had a premonition that something bad was about to happen, but he wasn’t quick enough to avoid the attack.
A fireball shot out of the dog’s mouth and flew directly at Damian. He tried to dodge, but the fireball grazed his right arm. Unbearable pain spread through his arm, and Damian groaned.
"Damn it," Damian muttered, frustrated. The fight wouldn’t be as easy as he had imagined. He focused more on the battle, utilizing not only his telekinesis but also his other abilities.
With precise movements, Damian conjured a blood prison, trapping the dog in place. Then, he created a bone spear using his necromancy skills, enhancing its power with blood magic. Blood coalesced around the spear, giving it a menacing red appearance.
The blood spear flew toward the dog and hit it directly in the torso. With the blood prison still working, it was impossible for the hellhound to dodge the attack.
It was now the hellhound who growled in pain.
Damian didn’t stop there. He needed to use the opportunity to send more attacks, and that’s what he did. This time, he utilized his Telekinesis to pull one of the nearby trees and toss it toward the hellhound!
That was a powerful attack. The tree was big and heavy, and with the added speed of his Telekinesis, the damage the tree did was impressive. The hellhound got crushed by the tree.
However, Damian was not confident that both attacks were enough to kill that creature. It was a creature from the underworld, and it was certainly powerful.
The hellhound grabbed the tree with its mouth and tossed it away. The hole on the dog’s torso caused by the spear was already healing!
’What an incredible healing speed!’
The healing power of the hellhound was astonishing. But Damian knew it had to have a limit. No creature could heal forever.
So, he didn’t halt and continued his assault against the hellhound. The only problem was his arm.
The fire from that creature was not a normal one. It was still burning, and no matter what Damian did, the fire didn’t extinguish.
It was burning his skin alive, and the only reason Damian could still keep going was his high Endurance and his giant bloodline. But that didn’t mean he could let the fire burn forever. He needed to make it stop.
However, he had no idea how he would do that. The only thing Damian had in mind was kill the hellhound as fast as possible.
Damian had to utilize his greatest powers to eliminate the hellhound, and that meant he would have to use his blood magic.
He concentrated and activated his blood powers. His hair changed to white, and his eyes were completely red.
Damian rarely utilized that much blood magic. The usage of spells was okay to him, but when his body suffered that transformation, he was no longer the same Damian.
It was a similar feeling to when he went rogue and killed the entire village. The bloodlust inside him was unbearable.
The hellhound stopped for a moment. It was like the creature had felt the shift in power and wanted to run away instead of fighting against Damian.
Of course, Damian didn’t give the creature a chance. The ground underneath their feet turned into a massive pool of blood, and the hellhound’s movements were restricted.
"Blood Swamp!"
The Blood Swamp acted similarly to the blood prison when it came to its finality, but the swamp was way harder for the creature to run away from.
After casting that spell, Damian wanted to do something else. He used his hand to pierce his torso in a non-lethal portion of it. What he needed was more blood to use a more powerful spell.
With all the blood draining Damian did, he not only increased his attributes, but also gave him new spells. One of them was called Blood Blossom.
A massive blood flower appeared in the forest. Elena and the others saw it from afar.
"What’s that?" Elena said.
Elrandir looked at it with apprehension, "That’s prohibited magic... Who’s doing this?"
The Blood Blossom flew toward the hellhound, engulfing it entirely. The power behind that spell was so grand that it created a hole in the forest, destroying the vegetation around it.
The hellhound had the same fate. It died. The burning fire on Damian’s arm stopped, but the damage was still there.
’My arm is fucked, and my torso too. I’ll need some time to rest...’ realized Damian.
He had suffered in that fight, but at least he won.
