Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 604: Counterattack

Chapter 604: Counterattack

"Mmm...it’s also time to find out what motive that zombie king had in showing itself so openly in Russia." Ye Xuan also said grimly.

"We should probably work in teams instead of facing the zombies and those mutated creatures from one side." Qi Long suggested.

"That’s true. We will hunt in small teams of no more than ten people. This will increase our chances of retreating safely after every attack and before the wind returns." Chu Miao believed that this would be the best strategy.

"But what about visibility?" Yin Wei asked.

"Even during the four-hour break, the environment is chaotic. Dust, debris... it’s hard to see." He added with concern.

"That shouldn’t be a problem for cultivators. As cultivators, we don’t need to use our physical eyes to ’see’. We can use our divine sense to determine where the largest clusters of zombies are before we attack. Once we have the right coordinates, even ordinary people can go in, kill, and get out quickly." Chu Miao explained their advantage.

A dangerous glint appeared in several people’s eyes. Especially Ye Xuan and his brothers.

"What about the mutated animals? What do we do about them?" Professor Song, who had remained quiet during the discussion, asked hesitantly.

"They appear during the same window, right?" Ye Xuan asked.

"Yes." Professor Song nodded enthusiastically.

"Then they will be treated the same way the zombies are. Anything that threatens humanity should be eliminated. However, the corpses of the animals can be brought back to sort out. I don’t believe that every mutated animal out there has the zombie virus." Chu Miao spoke again.

"Eh, Bunny, why do you want to bring back those animals?" Grandpa Chu asked because he didn’t understand what his granddaughter was up to.

"Grandpa, even though our sect has a good environment to grow food, lacking protein is still not good for the people. Some of these animals might still be edible. So, if they don’t have the zombie virus, then they can be eaten. Isn’t that a source of food too?" Chu Miao held the principle of not wasting resources dear.

"That’s true. Why didn’t we think of that?" People in the sect have been eating plant-based food all this time or canned meat. If they could get fresh meat, then that would be great. This can also be spread to other bases so that they can take advantage of this opportunity to get as much meat as possible." Commander Shen was still thinking of other citizens even at this point.

However, having someone who cares so much about their country would ensure they genuinely fight for humanity.

"That’s also okay. But we must first find out how to distinguish those with the zombie virus and those without." Ye Xuan chimed in.

"That’s true. In case some clueless survivors eat contaminated meat and end up mutating into zombies inside a safe base and infect others." Grandpa Chu also agreed with his future grandson-in-law.

"In that case, go and prepare. Choose strong cultivators or superpowers users to join the battle. If there are ordinary survivors who want to join, they can join in too. After all, this will also give them combat experience." Chu Miao gave the order and the meeting soon came to an end.

She volunteered to walk the guests out and ended up following Professor Song out of the building and headed towards the building that had been converted to a research facility.

Once inside, she was shocked to find that the research team that once consisted of three professors was now filled with people.

There were both young and old. All wearing lab coats and working as if the apocalypse outside had nothing to do with them.

The laboratory had the best equipment which Chu Miao didn’t know where it came from.

However, it was the best advanced facility anyone could find in the apocalypse.

"Wow! This place is so complete." Chu Miao marvelled as Professor Song walked her around showing what facilities they had.

Just as they reached the door where the specimens were locked, a middle-aged man and woman wearing lab coats and glasses walked over and stood in front of the door, blocking it.

"Professor Song, you can’t joke about the things in the lab. How can you bring such a young girl here?" The man said disapprovingly though he tried to pretend to be respectful to professor Song.

Chu Miao raised an eyebrow when she saw this.

She had no idea she, as the sect master, also had places she was restricted from entering.

"What are you doing? I just want to show her around since she hasn’t been here since the lab opened." Professor Song said with even more disapproval.

"Professor Song, this place is dangerous and not everyone can come in. How could you bring such a young girl here? Even if you want to look impressive, you can’t just show off with the dangerous stuff." The middle-aged woman spoke this time.

Chu Miao couldn’t help but wonder what had happened to the sect?

Everything used to be so simple. Why were these social classes popping up?

"Do you even know who she is before stopping her?" Professor Song asked, looking at the two blocking the door as if they were lunatics.

"No matter who she is, even if the jade emperor came, they can’t just enter the lab as they wish.

"Since when did people in the sect become so arrogant and self-serving?" Chu Miao asked in confusion.

"Little Miao, don’t take their words to heart, they don’t know anything and must be low-level researchers. That’s why they are behaving like this." Professor Song tried to placate Chu Miao.

Unfortunately, the people being defended were clueless.

"Why would you show her so much respect? Besides, even if our position isn’t high, at least we are entitled to enter the research lab. What about her? Why is she trying to access the specimen room? Is she trying to release those zombies and other creatures inside so that they could come out and infect people?" The woman asked arrogantly.
