Chapter 594 - 555 Knife that Cuts Iron as if it were Mud
As soon as the assistant unlocked Zhao Rong’s phone, he beamed at the three women. "It looks like watching those ’videos’ on Brother Zhao Rong’s phone paid off after all," he said cheerfully. "It can actually save someone’s life at a critical moment..."
When the three women saw that the assistant had indeed unlocked the phone, they high-fived and cheered. They quickly opened the Paradise Shopping Cart app, talking excitedly amongst themselves. "Let’s hurry and buy the Iron-Slicing Blade to save Brother Zhao Rong from this dire situation!"
So, the three of them purchased the Iron-Slicing Blade from the Paradise Shopping Cart as fast as they could. However, just as they thought the purchase was successful, they realized none of them knew the payment password for Brother Zhao Rong’s bank card.
Meanwhile, Zhao Rong was still being choked by the Tree Spirit Grandma. He had been deprived of oxygen for nearly a minute and used every last bit of his strength to force out a few words.
"Hurry up and buy it! If this keeps up, I’m going to suffer brain death from lack of oxygen! Then my heart will stop, and I’ll die right here in front of you all!"
In this desperate moment, the three women thrust the phone back at the assistant. "Assistant, you’d better enter Brother Zhao Rong’s payment password right now!" they warned. "Or else the three of us will make you regret it!"
The assistant held Zhao Rong’s phone again, a pained expression on his face. "Ladies, please don’t force me! I only know the password for the folder where Brother Zhao Rong keeps his videos... I don’t know his payment password!"
Before the assistant could finish, Lili exposed his lie. "Stop pretending, Assistant. Brother Zhao Rong told us himself that you’ve used his phone to go on adult websites and paid to watch movies. Don’t think we don’t know!"
Hearing Lili call him out, the assistant was left speechless. As he typed in the payment password, he muttered, "You three are incredibly resourceful. How did you know I used Brother Zhao Rong’s phone to log into adult websites and paid with his card to watch those films?"
Lili stepped forward and slapped him across the face. "Cut the crap and enter the password! Otherwise, Brother Zhao Rong is a dead man!"
After the assistant hastily entered the password, they immediately received their delivery: the Iron-Slicing Blade, launched from an express cannon.
As the three women and the assistant got their hands on the package, they quickly began to unwrap it.
Since this Iron-Slicing Blade is supposed to be even stronger than Brother Zhao Rong’s Damo Sword, it must be expensive, tough, domineering, and ridiculously powerful... just looking at it should be mind-blowing!
However, when they opened the package and saw the blade’s true form, they all gasped in dismay.
The assistant held the blade and was suddenly reminded of a martial arts performance prop he’d once bought on Pinshao for twenty-five yuan. "This thing is made of cheap tinplate!" he exclaimed. "It looks like one of those props for performances. How could this possibly be the Iron-Slicing Blade?"
Lili took the blade from his hand and saw that it wasn’t even sharpened. She couldn’t help but frown. "This is bizarre. Did the seller send us the wrong item? How can it slice through iron like mud if it doesn’t even have an edge?"
Yu Lan took a magnifying glass from her bag to study the blade, then shook her head dismissively. "Forget slicing through iron. I doubt this thing could even cut vegetables."
But while the assistant and the other two women were dismissing the blade, Xuelian didn’t hesitate. She grabbed the blade, rushed toward the Tree Spirit Grandma, and swung it at the roots binding Zhao Rong.
The moment the blade touched the roots, a miracle happened. In a flash, those incredibly tough roots—the same ones that even the Damo Sword couldn’t sever—were instantly and cleanly cut through.
Seeing how this seemingly blunt, thin, and harmless blade was so unbelievably sharp, the assistant, Lili, and Yu Lan stared, dumbfounded, before collapsing to the ground in shock.
The assistant couldn’t wrap his head around it. "I don’t get it. For a knife to be this sharp... it completely shatters my view of the world."
Lili was incredulous. "How can an unsharpened, dull knife be this sharp? How can it cut iron like mud? It’s not scientific! It defies the laws of physics!"
Yu Lan was just as baffled. "Could this blade have been used by aliens? How else could it be so magical?"
While the assistant and the two women were reeling, Zhao Rong broke free from the severed roots. Xuelian handed him the Iron-Slicing Blade, and he gripped it, his expression grim.
"Tree Spirit Grandma," he said, "now that I have this blade, your end is near!"
When the Tree Spirit Grandma saw that Zhao Rong actually possessed a blade capable of severing her roots, she couldn’t believe her eyes. "Impossible! My roots were transported to outer space to be processed and forged! How could a common knife from Earth possibly cut them? This is absurd!"
Zhao Rong held up the ordinary-looking performance knife and laughed. "This blade may look unremarkable and unsharpened, but its Sword Qi is powerful enough to sever any hard substance in this world—or even in this universe!"
When the assistant and the three women heard that the blade didn’t cut with its edge but with its Sword Qi, they finally understood. "I can’t believe it," they exclaimed in unison. "The cutting power of this blade comes from an energy, not the edge itself. It’s truly amazing!"
Zhao Rong explained, "You may not know this, but this blade’s Sword Qi is even more potent than oxy-fuel cutting or arc welding. So, don’t be so surprised that it could cut through those incredibly hard roots."
When the Tree Spirit Grandma heard Zhao Rong comparing the blade to electric welding and oxy-fuel cutting, she was floored. "I can’t believe it," she finally said. "You bastards actually brought electric and argon welders here to cut my roots... No wonder... I was just thinking that no ordinary knife could possibly harm my roots. It turns out you came prepared!"
