Chapter 842 - 867: The Storm Approaches (Second Update) (1)
The next day, in the afternoon.
After lunch, Koa Jackson and Mia Ginger headed to the Cloudy Capital.
Since both of them currently lived in the Blossom Quarter, they naturally needed to bring more clothes for changing.
On the way, Mia Ginger called Aurora Cooper and found out she wasn’t home, so Koa Jackson didn’t enter the Cooper Manor. After dropping off Mia Ginger, he went home to pack his things.
The weather was gradually warming up.
The sun was just right, and the scent of flowers was carried to the nose by the gentle breeze.
Mia Ginger walked straight into the hall, and after a few steps, the vigilant Chancellor jumped into her arms.
Margot came over afterward.
Mia Ginger smiled and said, "Is it just you at home?"
"Yeah," Margot giggled, "Mom and Sister Amy went to the yoga association, and it looks like Bob Ginger went to see a classmate."
"Every weekend with a classmate?" Mia Ginger said thoughtfully, nodding, "Alright then, I’m just here to pick up some clothes for school, don’t worry about me, you go on with your business."
"Okay." Margot smiled and bounced back to watch television.
Mia Ginger stepped into the room.
It felt like a long time since she had seen Bob Ginger, so she thought she might as well give him a call.
Since it was still early, if Bob Ginger could return home soon, she would wait for him, and it would be nice for them to have a chat.
Thinking this way, Mia Ginger called Bob Ginger.
Bob Ginger took a while to answer, and when he did, he softly said, "Hello."
"Are you up to something shady?" Mia Ginger said irritably, "Why do you sound so sneaky answering the phone?"
"No." Bob Ginger kept his voice down, saying helplessly, "I’m at the library, trying not to disturb others."
"Really?" Mia Ginger changed the topic, "When are you coming back? I’m over at Cloudy Capital."
"I haven’t been here long." Bob Ginger said.
Meaning, it would surely be a while before he returned.
Mia Ginger was about to let it go, when suddenly some soft singing came over the phone.
"They play music in the library?" She thought this and asked directly, and on the other end, Bob Ginger seemed to pause, then said softly, "It was someone’s phone ringtone, alright, my battery is low too, let’s not talk for now."
With that, he hurriedly hung up the phone.
Mia Ginger was speechless for a moment.
It still felt off.
Shouldn’t the phone ringtone feel different?
Where exactly was Bob Ginger?
She felt uneasy, called back, and was prompted that the phone was off.
No battery?
Recalling what Bob Ginger said earlier, she was unsure again, overthinking as she entered the room.
At this moment—
Bob Ginger had already returned to his seat.
He was indeed not in the library, but at Pizza Hut having afternoon tea.
He had arranged to meet Zuri Ginger.
Seeing him return, Zuri Ginger raised an eyebrow with a smile and asked, "Who was that? So secretive on the call, afraid I’d hear?"
"A classmate." Bob Ginger didn’t want to say more.
Zuri Ginger didn’t press, laughed, and continued the previous topic, "If you want me to stop writing, it’s simple, first, you persuade your dad to pull some strings for me to avoid jail time, and second, give me half a million."
Bob Ginger looked at her incredulously, "Where would I get that kind of money?"
"You don’t, but Mia does, and even if she doesn’t, your dad and Aurora do, half a million is just a pittance to them, just a matter of asking." Zuri Ginger sneered.
"I can’t do the first one either, Dad doesn’t necessarily listen to me." Bob Ginger looked troubled.
