Chapter 443 - 442: Your Girlfriend Must Be Especially Lucky
Archer Quinn didn’t deny Director Simons’ comment. He smiled and raised his glass, "Then I’ll thank Director Simons on Bella’s behalf."
Director Simons clinked glasses with him, and they exchanged a knowing smile. Everything was understood without words.
The meal was almost finished, and the scene was rehearsed. It didn’t make much sense to stay any longer.
Director Simons and his crew were heading to the next venue. Naturally, as the one who initiated the gathering, Cynthia Young was supposed to take Bella Acker to the second round.
Everyone got up and called the few young models from next door to go outside the hotel.
Archer Quinn said to Cynthia Young, "Ms. Young, I’ve arranged to discuss something with Bella. Could you let her stay with me for a while? I’ve already talked to Director Simons."
Hearing this, Cynthia Young looked at Archer Quinn. She could easily tell that he was helping Bella Acker avoid the second gathering.
However, Bella Acker doesn’t drink alcohol, and her nature is rather innocent. She’s not the type to risk everything for advancement. As her manager, Cynthia Young, of course, had to protect her artist.
Cynthia Young weighed the situation and nodded, "Alright. Bella is somewhat intoxicated. I’ll have an assistant pick her up."
"No need, I’ll take her back myself," Archer Quinn said.
Cynthia Young disagreed on this point, "Mr. Quinn, there have already been rumors about you and Bella. If you’re photographed entering hotels or apartments alone again, it could affect Bella’s future. I can see that you’re genuinely friends with Bella, that’s why I’m being so direct. I hope you don’t mind. I’ll call the assistant to pick her up right away."
Archer Quinn indeed wanted to spend some time alone with Bella Acker, but to avoid stirring up bad rumors, he had to suppress his little intention.
After Cynthia Young called Judy Zimmerman to drive to the hotel to pick up Bella Acker, she then left with Director Simons and the others for the second round of drinks.
Once they were gone, Bella Acker said, "Senior Quinn, thank you. If I had to drink again, I probably wouldn’t get up tomorrow."
"You." Archer Quinn rubbed her hair with his large hand and said, "If you can’t drink, don’t push yourself. This circle may be a bit restless, but many things are a matter of mutual consent. If you make it clear that you can’t drink, they won’t force you."
"How can that be?" Bella Acker sighed, "I’m just a newcomer."
Perhaps when she becomes more famous, she’ll be able to skip some of those drinking events.
Archer Quinn wanted to say that with him around, she didn’t need to worry about being put in difficult situations, but he changed his words, "Then work hard and aim to become a big star sooner."
"I don’t really aim to become a big star, I just hope to get more work and earn more money," Bella Acker said with a shy smile, "Senior Quinn, do you think my mindset is really unambitious?"
"Not at all." Archer Quinn shook his head, "For us, everything from food, clothing, housing to socializing requires expenses, how can we get away from money? But money isn’t everything. There are many things that money can’t buy."
If money could truly buy everything, I would bankrupt myself just to purchase your affection.
Archer Quinn laughed self-mockingly, lowering his eyes to hide the loneliness and bitterness in them.
"I know, money can’t buy genuine feelings." Bella Acker laughed, "Senior Quinn, you’re so great; your future girlfriend will surely be very happy."
